A 15-year old teenager in India has died after he accidentally shot himself in the head while taking a selfie with his gun.

Ramandeep Singh was posing with his father’s .32 caliber pistol on Friday when he pulled the trigger by mistake, Punjab state police told CNN. The safety catch was off.

Singh was taken to a hospital, but he died from his injuries on Sunday afternoon.
Of the 49 selfie-related deaths reported worldwide in the past three years, 40% took place in India. Earlier this year, the Indian city of Mumbai instituted “no selfie zones” as a precaution.

In January of 2015, three Indian students died when they tried to take a picture of themselves standing very closing to a moving train.

The police are told to prevent people from taking selfies in high-risk locations, such as on the waterfront.

The first time a selfie-related death caught the world’s attention was a Lebanese man was killed by a car bomb while posing for a selfie in Beirut, according to Time.
In September, a Houston teen shot and killed himself while taking a selfie.
