Surely one of the Wonders of the world. Conjoined twins is an extremely rare phenomenon, even rarer than the blue moon! Their occurrence ranges from 1 in 49,000 births to 1 in 1,89,000 births. Most conjoined twins are stillborn. Lucky are those who are able to survive. Moreover, research says one-third die within 24 hours of their birth.

Conjoined twins are identical twins who are joined in the womb. Just imagine how tuff it must be to perform even all the daily actions. From using the washroom to simply eating your meals, everything must be a big task for them. They have a TLC show dedicated to them, under the name "Abby & Brittany". Aged 26 now, they are an excellent example of survival despite adversaries.

Here are some facts you need to know about them

They have separate organs.

Despite having conjoined bodies, they have separate vital organs such as separate heart, stomach, spine, lungs, and spinal cord.

 

Half body control.

Each twin controls half of "their" body, operating one arm and one leg.

 

Difficult childhood.

Learning to crawl, walk or clap was difficult for them, because they had to coordinate. Can you ever think of these things to be difficult?

 

TLC offered to film a documentary of their teenage years, which later turned out to be a TV show

For showing us their growing years. They can swim, drive, run and even ride a bicycle. To your amazement, they can even type. They just have to coordinate their efforts a little.

They can drive quite comfortably, with Abby having the right controls and Brittany the left. It's just that they had to take the written driving test twice, one for each twin.

They have absolutely different interests. Abby loves mathematics and Brittany loves to write.

They told Discovery Channel that even they want to date, get married and have children. Great spirit!
