Jackpot! German Man Wins Over €76 Million in Lottery

A resident of North Rhine-Westphalia won more than €76 million in a lottery of the company Eurojackpot, German magazine Der Spiegel reported.

The win is reported to be the second largest in the history of the lottery.
In May 2015, €90 million had been won by a resident of the Czech Republic.

The Eurojackpot lottery is open to residents of 17 European countries. To get the jackpot, participants have to guess five numbers out of 50 plus two additional out of ten.

Until the recent big win, the biggest amount of money in Germany won by a lottery player was €59 million.

The money was gained by a resident of the German city of Hessen in December, 2014.
